In this regard, this study was designed to evaluate the allelic frequency of rs137852579 single-nucleotide polymorphism in the androgen receptor coding gene in patients suffering from prostate cancer. Material and methods: In this study, peripheral blood was taken in 10cc out of 50 prostate cancer patients and 50 healthy individuals. Genomic DNA of the samples was extracted and isolated. ARMS-PCR and direct sequencing were used to determine the presence of the desired polymorphism in population. Results: The results of this study showed that the allele frequency of rs137852579 for the C allele in the healthy group was 0.06 and in the patient group was 0.28. In addition, the heterozygosity rate showed that the Iranian population was in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium for this polymorphism (p> 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that rs137852579 polymorphism in the androgen receptor gene can contribute to prostate cancer in the Iranian population. M3 ER -
